It was a long weekend for us last week.
Well, at least it was for those who works in the "Oil & Gas" field as we had a lieu day off on Friday.
Thought I could get some work done but guess I expected too much from the gov' department =.='

Last Saturday was a big day for my lil' girl school.
It was their Annual Open Day whereby parents get to review their children's whole year school performance. But this year, they did something extra, they had a Carnival to raise money to upgrade some facilities for their playground.

Which is also the day our country celebrated our "Independence Day"
I was pretty amazed on how they managed to set everything up in a day & having everything well organized knowing that with lotsa kids + parents + games it was all the ingredient needed to create disaster.. LOL!
Food corner
All the food + games + prizes + drinks were sponsored by all the supportive parents.
Halal Food Corner.
Of course not forgetting the halal food for the Malay gang.
Drinks Corner.
This corner is taken care by my girl's favorite Teacher SooWen.
Who later end up with sore backache after working whole day.
The thing about "school" is that no matter what they put on sell there or any simple activities they had there, it all seems VERY exciting for my little girl.
Maybe it's because it's the first time where we accompany her to school & yet she gets to play and eat whole day WITHOUT having to go to class and study? my lazy bum =.='
She was shouting with excitement seeing a BIG BOUNCER set up at her school.
Of course, she enjoyed the ride twice & keep shouting at us showing off that those kids are her "friends"
Giselle's BFF Shanice's parents sponsored an activity for the Carnival.
Face/Hand painting & some coloring activities.
All in courtesy of one of Miri's famous creativity centre"Global Arts"
Had a butterfly nicely painted on her hand by Shanice's dad.
Global Art is introducing a new program for young kids aged 3 above which will start in October, every Wednesday, 2-4pm (which is the only art class for kids at this young age)
Planning to send our girl there so she can learn some basic coloring & art making.
Inside the school itself is where the "Art & Craft Making" activity is held.
Giselle skipped this one as she had enough of this during her schooling hour I supposed.
2 little cute boys making their own Ultraman masks? haha..
There were also some craft & clothing selling section - Giselle got herself 2 big batik rattles
(yes, that's my little shopaholic baby)
Another program sponsored by the parents - Cupcake decorating class.
Very thoughtful!!
Giselle got herself a "Minion" cupcake for just RM5.
Teacher SooWen with the supportive parents.
Keeping themselves very busy at the food & drinks corner.
Another interesting game was the "Batik Hand painting" classes organized by the ELC itself.
Giselle had hers done as well but I just remembered.... WE LEFT IT AT THE SCHOOL!!
Oh gosh, I still hope they still keep it there for us =.='
Last but not least, the "Roti Canai" eating contest.
I wanted to join altho I'm 200% damn sure me & Giselle is going to lose as we are the slowest eater in the world =.='
Hubbs forbid us to join as he doesn't eat canai & he can for-see our defeat.. LOL!!
Overall the Carnival Day 2013 was really a success & now we just hope the school managed to raise enough funds to upgrade their playground for the children :o)
