Miri Food - Claypot Rice

A nice spot to share with the Mirians.
Especially for those food lovers out there!

Northern Traditional Dumpling
It's not easy to noticed this little small restaurant as it's not by the road side where everyone can see it.
It's located at the old shop-lots behind SOHO (somewhere around there)

Based on their signboard, their signature dish are of course dumplings right?
It taste ok. But not as good as their claypot rice.
The restaurant is run by a China lady but if the boss happened to be around when u visit, then it's your lucky day cause HE definitely cooks better than the lady.

Fish Clay Pot Rice
The taste was ok but not as good as the Fish Head's clay pot.
Suitable for those vegetarians tho.

Beef Clay Pot Rice
I'm a beef & lamb lover but I decided to give the beef a go that day.
The tenderness of the beef was perfectly cooked.
Giving it a 7 out of 10.

MUST TRY: Fish Head Clay Pot Rice
This will be the signature clay pot rice & yes, I can guarantee u it taste good.
(has a tingling spicy taste to it)

If you're worried about the pricing, nah.. the prices are reasonable.
It only cost u RM8 per clay pot.

The place is quite small & can only accommodate a few family at a time.
The owners there were really friendly & keep asking if the food it ok.

My dinner date looking very "casual" as usual.
Trying to be a critic herself, she told me that "Mommy, the 100plus here taste too cold. Not good" =.='

So if u ever happened to be around the corner, drop by for a lunch & dinner.
I assured u won't regret it :o)

ELC - Carnival Day

It was a long weekend for us last week.
Well, at least it was for those who works in the "Oil & Gas" field as we had a lieu day off on Friday.
Thought I could get some work done but guess I expected too much from the gov' department =.='

***

Last Saturday was a big day for my lil' girl school.
It was their Annual Open Day whereby parents get to review their children's whole year school performance. But this year, they did something extra, they had a Carnival to raise money to upgrade some facilities for their playground.

Saturday, 31 Aug 2013
Which is also the day our country celebrated our "Independence Day"

I was pretty amazed on how they managed to set everything up in a day & having everything well organized knowing that with lotsa kids + parents + games it was all the ingredient needed to create disaster.. LOL!

Food corner
All the food + games + prizes + drinks were sponsored by all the supportive parents.

Halal Food Corner.
Of course not forgetting the halal food for the Malay gang.

Drinks Corner.
This corner is taken care by my girl's favorite Teacher SooWen.
Who later end up with sore backache after working whole day.

The thing about "school" is that no matter what they put on sell there or any simple activities they had there, it all seems VERY exciting for my little girl.
Maybe it's because it's the first time where we accompany her to school & yet she gets to play and eat whole day WITHOUT having to go to class and study? my lazy bum =.='

She was shouting with excitement seeing a BIG BOUNCER set up at her school.
Of course, she enjoyed the ride twice & keep shouting at us showing off that those kids are her "friends"

Giselle's BFF Shanice's parents sponsored an activity for the Carnival.
Face/Hand painting & some coloring activities.
All in courtesy of one of Miri's famous creativity centre"Global Arts"

Had a butterfly nicely painted on her hand by Shanice's dad.
Global Art is introducing a new program for young kids aged 3 above which will start in October, every Wednesday, 2-4pm (which is the only art class for kids at this young age)
Planning to send our girl there so she can learn some basic coloring & art making.

Inside the school itself is where the "Art & Craft Making" activity is held.
Giselle skipped this one as she had enough of this during her schooling hour I supposed.

2 little cute boys making their own Ultraman masks? haha..
There were also some craft & clothing selling section - Giselle got herself 2 big batik rattles
(yes, that's my little shopaholic baby)

Another program sponsored by the parents - Cupcake decorating class.
Very thoughtful!!
Giselle got herself a "Minion" cupcake for just RM5.

Teacher SooWen with the supportive parents.
Keeping themselves very busy at the food & drinks corner.

Another interesting game was the "Batik Hand painting" classes organized by the ELC itself.
Giselle had hers done as well but I just remembered.... WE LEFT IT AT THE SCHOOL!!
Oh gosh, I still hope they still keep it there for us =.='

Last but not least, the "Roti Canai" eating contest.
I wanted to join altho I'm 200% damn sure me & Giselle is going to lose as we are the slowest eater in the world =.='
Hubbs forbid us to join as he doesn't eat canai & he can for-see our defeat.. LOL!!

Overall the Carnival Day 2013 was really a success & now we just hope the school managed to raise enough funds to upgrade their playground for the children :o)

Panty in the bag

Hubbs: "I found an underwear in my working bag today"
Me: "huh...?"
Hubbs: "And it's a ladies panty"
Me: "wtf..?!! and..????"
Hubbs: "And it's purple color"
Me: "It's not funny at all. Explain!"

*Hubby grab it out from his bag and pass it to me*

Hubbs: "Hope u can tell me who this belongs to"

*Almost fainted laughing after seeing the panty"

Me: "I have no idea how the heck this gets in there but.. I'm pretty sure I know who is the owner cause only one person in the family that wears a purple stripy panty at this size"

*Our daughter was staring at us and her eyes blink with excitement*

Daughter: "Eh..!! 那个是我的..!"

Ultraman in Town!!

Had one of the "weirdest" weekend in my life.
But my nephew & lil girl had one of the best day of their life cause they get to meet ONE of their many idols...

*drums rolling*

bet I'm sure u all already know by the title of the post.. LOL!

*
*
*
*

ULTRAMAN!!!

YES!! I know what u are thinking.
"duh.. who still likes Ultraman nowadays =.='"
well.. amazingly the kids at our house still does!!

And the shocking look on their face when they finally meet their idols is like "priceless" and damn funny at some part.. cause.. come on.. it's Ultraman =.='
The man who fights giant creatures, shooting green or blue beams by putting the hands in a cross sign.
I mean, seriously but, oh well, hope they get over this one soon!!

**

It's Sunday again so it's another Toddler's Art class for lil'G
The look on her face when Teacher Jess told her it's baking class that day was.. *as per attached*

That's my hardworking little chef at work.
The first to start, the last to leave the table =.='
She had to make sure she bake enough for everyone at home.. awww~~

 Her masterpiece!
I'm a proud mama!!

Random Days #01

Noticed I've again, been a lazy blogger =.='
Guess it's better if I start up a kind of post whereby I can sum up few weeks/months of stuff that has been happening in my life under ONE single post! That would save me a lot of time.
Anyway, here's one of the few highlights for these past few MONTHS of my life;

Uncle spoilt us by buying another massage chair for the house.
My little fat girl was so thrill - thought it was another collection for her "TOYS"

 Time flies.
First they were only friends. Then they started dating. Then we got invited to their wedding to be bridesmaids.. and now one of my BFF is pregnant with her first child!!
They are Bruneians so obviously I can't join them for any hangout sessions OFTEN so they were kind enough to paste my face in one of their cam-whore photos.. LOL..
Gosh, I miss my bitches

Lil G baking her very first waffles at "Love Fun Kids"
And amazingly my daughter has a talent that her mother doesn't have - A GOOD CHEF!!

My Wonderbox for June 2013.
I didn't do a review post on it, mainly because I didn't find any of the products interesting =.=
I stopped subscribing it for Aug as.. I'm starting to get bored of the products they are offering.

Lil G doing her bubble art work.
She was a little moody that day cause her daddy was outstation & couldn't accompany her to the class.

 Lil G at school.
Her teacher were complaining she is not a patient little girl - still have a lot of pending coloring that she has yet to clear. The girl on her right side is her BFF at school, "Shanice" haha..

 7th July 2013
The day I turned 28 =.=
Damn.. I'm finally closing in my 30's
The horror..........

A day trip to the Rig with the Singapore Alliance Team
Yea, we had fun & managed to go home with ZERO accidents.. LOL..
I love my job!!

Hubby brought us to KB for sushi as a late birthday celebration for me.
Luckily no Qs at the custom this time or else we wouldn't have make it back to Miri on time!

 It's fun when u have a daughter.
It's more like having a real life Barbie Doll whereby u can play dress-ups & u get to hangout on free time like sisters :o)

Another satisfied G after the Toddler's Art lesson at "Love Fun Kids"
One of her master piece!

Went to Singapore for work for a short trip of 2D/1N - oh yes it was rushing =.=
But still managed to grab a quiet nice dinner :o)

Had to rush back home from Singapore for my cousin Alex wedding - Ming's Cafe!
I was so darn tired that day & crash straight into bed after the reception.
I'm finally getting too old to party I supposed?

I had to post this to show the world the meaning of "Sleeping Beauty"
I feel like I own the cutest baby in the world when she is sleeping!!

And yes.. talking about cute & sexayyyyy...
Just need to make sure those legs developed longer
(God please let her have those killer legs that her mother always dreamt of!!)

Had a busy week when the Youth Exchange from Japan (Lion's Club) came over.
Our "son" is called Reon (right) & the so Malaysia Ladies killer on the left side is called "Kazuyuki"
It was fun to have them around and letting them experienced the living culture of Malaysia.

The Malay big festive "Hari Raya" was finally here - last week.
And yes, say HELLO to all those yummy food.
Went food hunting and visiting with Lil G on the first day of Raya & after that, we gave up.
I gained 1kg in just 4 days =.='

My old school buddy, Dr.Lorna Chin & Farrel baby twins finally turned 1 years old!
Again, time flies..
The next thing u know, I'm invited to the twin's wedding already =.='

My poor baby girl bumped her lips falling down from the chair at school.
Luckily the fall didn't broke her tooth of tear her mouth.
Just a small bruise which I hope will heal soon - "mommy don't want u to have the Angelina Jolie lips at such young age lil'G"

McDonald's Hello Kitty fever

The craziness of Mirian for the McDonald's Hello Kitty is now finally over!!
I'm 100% sure a lot of them bought it not because of their love for the toys itself. They do purchase in bulks just so they can earned money out of it by selling to those who collects em' =.='

I admit I'm not a Hello Kitty fan but this is just too cute to resist. LOL.
Ok, my daughter is a fan so I'm just collecting it for her.
But if by all means, anyone out there who is willing to spend RM200 to buy this whole set from me, YES!! I'LL BE WILLING TO LET IT GO!! LOL!!
(Seeing how those ppl selling each for RM70 - which is not even worth that much, I feel pity for them)

Hamburglar X Hello Kitty
I remember buying the first one with no problem at all. No queues. No one even interested in it.

Grimace X Hello Kitty
Then along comes the 2nd kitty. Again, no problem, still no queue or any craziness spotted at McDonald's. Sold out only by night time.

Birdie X Hello Kitty
But when the 3rd kitty arrived, I'm starting to see long queues until outside McDonald's.
Toys starting to be sold out by noon.

 RonaldMcDonald X Hello Kitty
Lastly, upon the arrival of the 4th kitty, queue started at McD by 4am in the morning =.='
YES!! 4 bloody AM!!
I thought I could just stop by to buy one after sending my girl to school at 8am but by the time I reached the McD near my office, the drive thru & walk in queues were insane. I didn't even bother to try, just drove away & from what I heard it was all sold out by 9am - the entire Miri =.='

Not wanting to disappoint my little girl, I gave a few calls to my cousins, all of them said there were no one even bother to queue in KK, Labuan or KL for the Hello Kitties.
So thanks to them and my girlfriend, Velyn, I'm able to get my hands on 2 of the last kitty - one for my girl & one for mommy :o)

Again, Mirians.. "kia su" all very business minded - buy in bulk and triple up the price to sell to those collectors =.='
